I found this book tag on Zezee With Books and it seemed like a fun tag to do. It’s also been around since at least 2016! I’m very late to the game. I know a lot of people have many issues with Goodreads but I absolutely love it.

What was the last book you marked as ‘read’?
Great Goddesses: Life Lessons from Myths and Monsters by Nikita Gill
I’ve been a huge fan of Nikita Gill since her early days on Tumblr but this is the first book of hers I’ve read. You can find my review of Great Goddesses on my blog. There were some parts I enjoyed and others I didn’t but overall, it was an empowering read.
What are you currently reading?
I’ve been reading Toil and Trouble: 15 Tales of Women and Witchcraft for at least 2 months now. It’s not a very dense book and I usually love short stories but for some reason, I just can’t seem to get through this one. I’m about 57% of the way through this one so I hope I can’t finish it before the end of November.
What was the last book you marked as ‘TBR’?
Seasparrow (Graceling Realm #5) by Kristin Cashore
For this one, I might as well mark the whole Graceling series as the last book I TBR-ed. I read Graceling, Fire, and Bitterblue about 10 years ago and I remember enjoying it but it’s been so long, I can’t remember the details.
What book do you plan to read next?
I first read one of Christine Feehan’s Dark Carpathian books (book 17 – Dark Celebration) during my paranormal phase in high school – not that I ever really grew out of the paranormal phase but I remember being enamoured with the characters. I will admit that it is kind of toxic but it is one of my guilty pleasures. I want to read the series from book 1 – Dark Prince and work my way up to the current one which is book 32 – Dark Whisper.
Shadow Spell and Blood Magic are the second and third books from Nora Roberts’ Cousin O’Dwyer Trilogy. I read the first book, Dark Witch, last year and I haven’t gotten around to the others just yet.
Ireland, magic, witchcraft, and romance. What more can I ask for?
Do you use the star rating system?
Yes, absolutely. I like the stars. It’s easy to understand by almost anyone and it helps to give a quick, honest opinion on books or anything, really. You can find my star rating system on my review policy. I love that WordPress allows you to do half-stars! Goodreads should really add that to their system.
Are you doing a 2022 Reading Challenge?
Well, I’m trying to! I updated my Goodreads Reading Challenge at the beginning of the year to 10 books. So far, I’ve read 3 and I’m already 5 books behind schedule. In my defence, my year has been crazy and intense and I’ve barely had time to stop and breathe.
Do you have a wishlist?
Is this the same as a TBR? If not, then no. I don’t have a wishlist.
What book do you plan to buy next?
Ah. Buying books. I wish I had the money for that luxury. No, I usually get my books from the library.
Do you have any favourite quotes, would you like to share a few?
“The world is indeed full of peril, and in it there are many dark places; but still there is much that is fair, and though in all lands love is now mingled with grief, it grows perhaps the greater.”
― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring
Who are your favourite authors?
Hmmm, I don’t know. There isn’t an author that I’ll read just about anything from but if I have to choose, I tend to always go back to the authors and books I read growing up.
C.S. Lewis, Louisa May Alcott, J.R.R. Tolkien, Rick Riordan
They are definitely more but I was a voracious reader and quite honestly, I just cared about consuming as many words as possible in the shortest amount of time.
Have you joined any groups?
Yes, I’m on a few Goodreads groups but I don’t really participate. I am what is known as a professional lurker.
Who do you tag?
Anyone who wants to do it.
